Sports Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG)

High schoolers need a sports ECG/EKG (electrocardiogram) to screen for potential underlying heart abnormalities that could lead to sudden cardiac death during athletic activity. This is a rare but serious risk for young athletes. An ECG is a noninvasive test that monitors your heart's electrical activity and can help identify conditions which might not be detected through a standard physical exam alone.
